Scope of practice
This page exists because I genuinely care about doing right by you. Coaching is a powerful thing, but it works best when everyone is clear on what it is - and what it isn't.
So here's an honest, straightforward look at how I work and where the boundaries are.
What Falls Outside My Scope
There are some things I'm not qualified or insured to do, and I'll always be upfront about that. Unless I hold a separate qualification in a specific area, I do not:
Analyse or assess symptoms
Diagnose conditions
Interpret medical test results or clinical data
Give specific dietary or nutritional advice, including removing food groups
Recommend supplements
Prescribe meal plans
Prescribe or advise on medication or medical treatments
Make claims to prevent or cure any condition
If something comes up that falls outside coaching, I'll always let you know — and where I can, I'll point you in the right direction.
A Note on Professional Support
Health coaching works beautifully alongside medical and therapeutic care, but it is not a replacement for it. If you're dealing with a medical condition, mental health concerns, or anything that needs clinical support, please do continue working with your GP or relevant healthcare professional.
If at any point I feel something is beyond the scope of coaching, I'll say so - kindly, clearly, and always with your best interests at heart.
Professional Standards
I am a UKIHCA Registered Health Coach and practise in line with the UKIHCA Scope of Practice framework. You can read the full framework at ukihca.com.
What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching is a client-centred, collaborative process. That means you are in the driving seat. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you get clear on what you want, building on your strengths, and supporting you to make real, lasting changes to your health and wellbeing.
I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to help you figure out what works for you.
What I Do
As a UKIHCA Registered Health Coach, I work with you to:
Set and achieve your own health and wellbeing goals
Identify your strengths and the resources already available to you
Develop self-management strategies that fit your life
Build accountability so the changes you want actually stick
Explore a wide range of health-related topics — food, sleep, movement, energy, relationships, purpose, and more
Signpost you towards trusted, evidence-based information to support your journey
